Do you know what a lifestyle newborn shoot is? Melissa didn’t really when we first talked about it. I think the newborn photography business is largely made up of posed newborns in cute turtle outfits (and that IS completely adorable and cute!) but those just aren’t my kind of shoots. When Melissa sent me some photos of her beautiful home in Randleman I knew that we would have a successful shoot! A newborn lifestyle shoot is a little different because it is, in fact, inside the client’s home. That is sometimes easier than coming to a studio and the moments that are captured are ones that are your average day.
I met Melissa through her sister, Lauren, whom I have photographed a few times now (and I love her so, I knew I’d love her sister too). Photo sessions in people’s homes are a little intimidating I know, but Melissa and her husband, Chris, trusted me with this vision and so we rolled with it. Little Evie wasn’t so much a newborn, but about a month old which actually worked out beautifully for us! She was so alert and interested in everything going on. Evie’s big brother, Nolan, and big sister, Chloe, got in some moments with little Evie. I could tell this family of five was going to be a good session.
Then I saw how Nolan looked his newest baby sister. This smile, yall! That was not prompted–he just loves her that much! But, who wouldn’t? Look at this sweet girl.
